ABOUT SARA DE LA

Sara de la Rica is the Director of ISEAK, Professor of Economics at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labour-Bonn (IZA) and Honorary Member of the Spanish Economic Association.

She is a member of the Board of Directors of Iberdrola and chairs its Sustainable Development Committee. She is also a member of the Advisory Council of Spanish Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business, as well as of the AMETIC Reflection Forum. She was President of the European Society for Population Economics (ESPE) in 2012, President of the Committee for the Economic Study of Women (COSME) in 2012 and 2013 and member of the Economic and Social Council between 2006 and 2007.

Her areas of expertise are gender, immigration, unemployment, inequality, labour institutions and the future of employment.

She holds a PhD in Economics from the UPV/EHU, a post-doctorate course at Princeton University and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Warwick.
