ABOUT RAMóN

Ramón Pacheco Pardo is Professor of International Relations at King’s College and KF-VUB Korea Chair at the Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy (CSDS) of the Brussels School of Governance of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. As Regional Envoy for East and Southeast Asia at King’s College London, he helps define and implement King’s College strategy in the region.

He is also an Adjunct Fellow (Non-Resident) at the Korea Chair of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the Sejong Institute. He is also a member of the European Union Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP EU).

His research focuses on East Asian international relations and economic policy, especially on the Korean peninsula’s relationship with the European Union and East Asian regional governance. He has held visiting positions at Korea University, the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and the University of Melbourne.

He holds a PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a MA in International Relations from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and a BA in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid.
