ABOUT MARTA DE LA

Marta de la Cuesta González is Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at The National Distance Education University (UNED) and Coordinator of the Master in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at this university. She is a member of the Academic Committee of the PhD programme in Economics and Business at the UNED and is Senior Analyst of the group on Sustainable Finance and Social Responsibility.

She has been a member of the Board of Directors of Banca Cívica (June 2011 – June 2012) and Chair of the Board’s Social Responsibility Committee, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Economists without Borders Foundation since its creation. She participates in different technical committees and advisory boards of bodies such as the State Council for Corporate Social Responsibility (CERSE) or the Advisory Board of The Spanish Centre for Responsible and Sustainable Finance (FINRESP).  She has been Vice-Rector of Planning and Economic Affairs at UNED for five years (2005-2009; 2012-2013) and has directed the Chair of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability at UNED sponsored by Telefónica S.A. She is a Founding Partner of Economists Without Borders and was a promoter of the CSR observatory.

She holds a PhD in Economics and Business Administration from the UNED (extraordinary prize) and a Degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid (CUNEF).
