María Dolores Ríos Peset is Ambassador of Spain to Senegal. She has been Ambassador-at-Large for Migration Affairs until February 2024.

She has previously served in the Spanish embassies in Bolivia, Colombia, Namibia, Paraguay, Mexico, Ecuador and Cape Verde. She has also held different positions in the Spanish missions abroad as Second-in-Command, Consul General and Cultural Counsellor.

She has held different positions in the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs: in the General Directorate for International Economic Relations, in the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID), where she was Deputy Director General of Cooperation with Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, and in the Secretariat of State for the European Union, where she was lastly an Advisor for Parliamentary Affairs in the Cabinet of the Secretary of State for the European Union.

She holds a Degree in Law with an extraordinary award from the University of Valencia. She entered the diplomatic career in 1991.
