ABOUT MARíA CRISTINA

María Cristina Pérez Gutiérrez is member of the Spanish Diplomatic Corps and is currently Ambassador-at-Large for the Special Mission for the Strategy for the Caribbean.

She was Director General of Sustainable Development Policies at the Secretariat of State for International Cooperation and for Ibero-America and the Caribbean. She has served as Ambassador of Spain to Costa Rica and in the Spanish delegations in Bogota and Beijing and the European Union, as well as in various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain.

She holds a Degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid, a Diploma in French Law from the University Paris XI Sceaux, a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in Community Law from the University of Paris Sorbonne-Assas and a master’s degree in Community Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
