Kiko Llaneras holds a PhD in Engineering and is a data journalist at El País. Since 2016, he writes in this newspaper to analyse and explain through graphs and data complex issues such as elections, social changes, pandemics or soccer matches.

He is co-founder of Politikon and has collaborated with media outlets such as Jot Down or El Español. Previously he did research with mathematical models in computational biology and biotechnology at the University of Girona, where he was a Lecturer. He is the author of the book Piensa Claro: Ocho reglas para descifrar el mundo (2022).

He holds a PhD in Industrial Automation and Electronics Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).
