ABOUT JORGE

Jorge Onrubia Fernández is Professor of Public Finance and Fiscal System at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the Complutense University of Madrid, where he has been Department Director.

He is an Associate Researcher at the Foundation for the Study of Applied Economics (FEDEA, in Spanish), a Researcher at the Complutense Institute for International Studies (ICEI, in Spanish) and a member of GEN – Governance and Economics Research Network. He is currently a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Journal of Government and Economics.

He has been Secretary of the Editorial Board and member of the Scientific Committee of Hacienda Pública Española/Review of Public Economics, Associate Editor of Revista de Economía Aplicada, Co-Executive Editor of the journal e-pública. He has been a member of the Scientific Committee and Co-Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Encuentros de Economía Pública.

He has been a Researcher and Research Advisor at the Instituto de Estudios Fiscales and has conducted research for the BBVA Foundation, FIES, FUNCAS, the Ramón Areces Foundation, the Mapfre Foundation and the La Caixa Foundation, among others. He has been a Visiting Researcher at the Research Department of the Bank of Spain.

His lines of research are the economics of taxation, tax administration, income distribution and redistribution, economic analysis of public management, housing economics and institutional analysis of fiscal policy. He has numerous papers published in national and international scientific journals, and has published several books as author and co-editor, as well as chapters in specialised collective books.

He holds a PhD in Economics and a Degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid.
