Esteban Ortiz-Ospina is Executive Co-Director of Global Change Data Lab and Director of Strategy and Operations at Our World in Data. Since February 2016 he has been a Honorary Researcher at the Oxford Martin School of the University of Oxford.

Prior to these positions, he worked as a lecturer in the Department of Economics at the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford between 2014 and 2016. He has been an Advisor to the National Planning Department in Colombia, where he provided guidance on national policies focused on internal displacement. He has also been a Consultant to the Colombian Ministry of National Education.

He holds a PhD and MA in Economics from Oxford University and an Industrial Engineering Degree from the University of the Andes.
