ABOUT ENRIQUE

Enrique Silvela Díaz-Criado is Major General of the Spanish Army and the Chief of Staff of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Spain Headquarters, located in Valencia. He has participated in international missions in Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Lebanon.

As a Colonel, he commanded the Doctrine Section at the Joint Centre for Concept Development of the Centre for National Defence Studies (CESEDEN), from December 2018 to December 2019, and the 73rd Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment from 2016 to 2018.

He has also served as a Professor at the Artillery Academy and the Army War College. He is the author of numerous military and civilian publications, including monographs and articles in scientific and professional journals.

He holds a Diploma from the Spanish and United States Armies, a PhD in Peace and International Security from the Gutiérrez Mellado University Institute, and a master’s in military art and science from the Command and General Staff College (CGSC) of the United States Army.
