Cristina Manzano

Cristina Manzano is External Relations Director of the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB).
She has developed her career between the management of organisations and the generation of content, especially in bringing international affairs to diverse audiences. As a journalist, she has been a regular contributor to newspapers such as El País and El Periódico de Catalunya, as well as audiovisual media such as RTVE and Cadena SER.
She regularly participates in meetings on international relations, with a special focus on the management of globalisation and global governance, European foreign policy and Spanish foreign policy. She is a member of the Spanish Board of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), the Scientific Committee of CIDOB, and the board of trustees of the NGO Alianza por la Solidaridad/Action Aid. She is also a member of the boards of the Spanish chapter of the Club of Rome and the Club of Madrid.
She was the Director of esglobal (a leading digital publication on global affairs in Spanish), the Director of IE Insights (IE University’s knowledge hub publication), and Editorial Coordinator of the magazine Pensamiento Iberoamericano, published by the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB). She was also the Deputy Director General of the Foundation for International Relations and External Dialogue (FRIDE, in Spanish), an independent think tank based in Madrid. Previously she was Managing Director of Reporter, a leading company in corporate publications and communications.
She holds a master’s degree in journalism at the University of Maryland (College Park, USA), thanks to a Fulbright Scholarship, and Degree in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid.
