Bernabé López García is Co-Director and Founding Member of the International Mediterranean Studies Workshop (TEIM), and Honorary Professor of Arab and Islamic Studies at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM).

He was Maître de Conférences at the Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University in Fez (Morocco) and Professor at the University of Fez between 1974 and 1988. He has directed numerous research and development projects funded by the ministries of Education and Science. He is specialised in history, migrations and Spanish Moroccan relations, and has numerous publications in this line.

He holds a PhD in Arabic and Islam from the University of Granada and a Degree in Philosophy and Letters from the same university.
