Belén Barreiro is Founder and CEO of 40dB (formerly MyWord).

She has dedicated more than twenty years to the scientific analysis of society. She was previously president of the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS).

She has taught at the Complutense University of Madrid and has been a researcher at several foreign universities. She is the author of several books and academic articles and writes opinion articles for El País and other newspapers.

She holds a PhD in Political Science, Sociology and Social Anthropology from The Autonomous University of Madrid and a master’s degree in social sciences from the Instituto Juan March de Estudios e Investigaciones (where she is also a Doctor Member).
