Ángel Ubide is Managing Director and Head of Economic Research for Global Fixed Income and Macro at Citadel. He is also a member of the Advisory Council for Economic Affairs of the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business, a member of the Euro 50 Group, and the Economic Club of New York.

His areas of interest are particularly focused on exchange rates, monetary policy, and European policy issues. He is the author of the book The Risk Paradox (2017).

Before joining Citadel in 2018, he held senior positions at Goldman Sachs, D.E. Shaw, and Tudor Investment Corporation. He began his career as an Economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). In addition to his career in financial services, he was a Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics.

He holds a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute in Florence and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Zaragoza.
