Ana Carmona

Ana Carmona Contreras is Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Seville. She is a member of the Law panel of the Agencia Española de Evaluación, of the Advisory Boards of the Revista Española de Derecho Constitucional and of the Colección Estudios Constitucionales, as well as of the Revista de las Cortes Generales, of the Scientific Board of the Revista General de Derecho Constitucional, of the Board of Directors of the Revista Vasca de Administración Pública and of the Advisory and Evaluating Board of the Revista Teoría y Realidad Constitucional. She teaches on the Official Master’s degree in Constitutional Law at the Universidad de Sevilla and is responsible for several modules.
She has been a Senior Analyst at the Fundación Manuel Giménez Abad de Estudios Parlamentarios y del Estado Autonómico and Co-Director of the Annual Report on Autonomous Communities, organised by the Public Law Observatory of the University of Barcelona. She has also been a member of the Steering Committee of the Rivista Osservatorio sulle Fonti and of the Scientific Committee of the Collana di Studi Progetto Polis and a member of the Electoral Board of Andalusia during the 10th Legislature.
She has carried out research stays in several foreign universities such as the University of Pisa, the University of Florence, the National University of La Plata, the Institute for Studies on Federalism of the European Academy (EURAC) or the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law. She has also been a visiting Professor at the universities of Palermo and Verona.
She holds a PhD in Constitutional Law from the University of Seville. She received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the University of Seville for the best thesis in Public Law in the 1995/1996 academic year.
