RESCALE
Project name: RESCALE
Description: This project is supported by the NATO programme Science for Peace and Security (SPS), which seeks to foster dialogue and practical cooperation between academic and research institutions from NATO member states and partner nations through on scientific research and knowledge exchange. This project engages in an in-depth analysis of the main geo-political, socio-economic and energy related challenges that may impinge upon the security of NATO’s southern neighbourhood and draws on scenario building to develop three alternative futures for the region out to 2030. The different scenarios have been developed through expert meetings in Amman, Rabat and Madrid, and will be included in the project’s final report. This project provides an opportunity for NATO and its members to reach out to partners in the south, with a view to engaging in a joint assessment of existing security challenges and opportunities. Indeed, this consortium is a stepping-stone onto a more structured cooperation on a long-term basis with Mediterranean partners and within the NATO framework.
