Miguel de Avendaño y Fisher is Chief Editor at the Elcano Royal Institute. From a fully bilingual and bicultural Anglo-Spanish background, he was educated in England and Spain, with a brief passage through University College London and a longer-lasting stay at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. He was an editor at Santander Investment’s financial research department from 1990 to 2003 and since then has been chief editor at the Elcano Royal Institute. His interests include family history, dogs, trees and learning Swedish, while he has long focused on promoting Anglo-Spanish understanding.
