Áurea Moltó is Director of REDElcano | ElcanoNET since September 2023. With more than 20 years of experience in international relations, her work is focused on Spanish foreign policy, Latin America, security and defense. She began her professional career at Agencia EFE and has been executive editor of Política Exterior, where she led the digital transformation to a multi-platform publication and expanded the network of contributors to Europe, the United States and Latin America. She has been senior visiting fellow at The Inter-American Dialogue (Washington DC) and advisor to the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.
She holds a degree in Communications from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a diploma in Advanced Defense Studies from the Centro Superior de Estudios de la Defensa Nacional (CESEDEN, Ministry of Defense). She completed postgraduate studies in Contemporary Latin America at Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset.
Áurea is a member of the steering committee of International Transparency Spain and ASPEN-Spain fellow. She is a regular contributor to Spanish and international media.
