Tuesday, 3rd December 2024, from 18:00 to 19:00 h. CET (UTC+1).

This first webinar of the webinar series: “India in the Indo-Pacific today” will focus on the impact of India’s internal dynamics on the international stage. Narendra Modi achieved his third consecutive victory in the last legislative elections held in India this year. This victory did not achieve an absolute majority, which is why he has been forced to form a coalition government.

After a brief analysis of the first months of Modi’s third government, we will proceed to analyse, among others, the impact of four key vectors on Indian domestic politics and their impact at regional and global levels:

  1. The tension between liberalism and protectionism in economic matters.
  2. The management of insurgencies and the protection of their borders.
  3. Religious and cultural nationalism and inter-religious tensions within the country.
  4. India’s new role in the Indo-Pacific.
