November 5th marks the end of a tightly contested race, the outcome of which will depend on a small number of states and votes. At stake is not only the Presidency but also the composition of the next Congress, which will determine the future Administration’s ability to govern. Beyond that, the results will have far-reaching effects on many countries and regions, international trade and security, as well as the global perception of democracy itself.
