The 5th edition of Elcano Forum on Global Terrorism (FETG) started with a inaugural lecture by professor Bruce Hoffman (Georgetown University, Washington DC, United States). The participants were, among others, Jean-Charles Brisard (Centre d’Analyse du Terrorisme, Strasburgo, France), Peter Nesser (Norwegian Defence Research Establishment, Oslo, Norway), Sam Mullins (George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany and University of Wollongong, Wollongong, Australia) and Eitan Azani (George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany and University of Wollongong, Wollongong, Australia).
Sessions of this new edition of FETG also included the exclusive presentation of an extensive report about the impact of conflicts in Syria, Iraq and Mali on jihadist activity in Spain, co-authored by Fernando Reinares and Carola García-Calvo.
